🌉 IT'S FINALLY HERE!
THE PARKE COUNTY COVERED BRIDGE FESTIVAL BEGINS TODAY!
WTHI: Parke County’s 32nd covered bridge opens
After months of waiting, planning, and talking about fall, today is the day!
The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival officially opens this morning and runs through October 18.
For ten days, visitors can explore 32 historic covered bridges, enjoy beautiful fall scenery, browse arts and crafts, sample festival food, and visit the communities that make Parke County special.
And here's the best part:
You don't have to see everything in one day.
🍁 START YOUR ADVENTURE
The festival has locations spread throughout Parke County, each with its own personality and attractions.
The official festival headquarters is in Rockville, but don't make the mistake of thinking Rockville is the only place to visit.
Take some time to explore the smaller communities, too.
That's where you can really experience the character of Parke County.
🏘️ TODAY'S SPOTLIGHT: ROSEDALE
We've talked about Rosedale all week, and today it gets the spotlight.
Rosedale is a charming little Indiana town and one of the festival locations.
The Rosedale Civic Center is a hub for local crafts, homemade goodies, and festival food. Nearby, visitors can also explore the Roseville/Coxville Covered Bridge and Thorpe Ford Covered Bridge.
And that's exactly what we love about this festival.
You can visit a historic bridge...
Then stop for something homemade...
Browse a few crafts...
Take some photographs...
And suddenly you've spent an entire afternoon enjoying a little piece of Indiana.
📸 BLOGBITZ PHOTO CHALLENGE
If you're heading to the festival today, here's your challenge:
Don't take just one picture of the bridge.
Photograph the bridge.
Photograph the road leading to it.
Photograph the trees.
Photograph the details in the wood.
Photograph the people enjoying the festival.
And take one picture that simply says:
"This is Indiana in October."
🍎 DON'T FORGET THE SMALL STOPS
One of the best things about a trip through Parke County is discovering something you didn't plan to see.
A little shop.
A roadside stand.
An orchard.
A historic building.
A country road covered with fallen leaves.
Those unexpected discoveries are often the memories you take home.
❤️ FRIDAY THOUGHT
You don't have to go far to have an adventure.
Sometimes adventure is waiting just down the road.
This weekend, get out.
Explore.
Take the scenic route.
Talk to someone you've never met.
Try something you've never tried.
And make a memory.
🌉 HAPPY COVERED BRIDGE FESTIVAL!
From BlogBitz, we're wishing everyone a safe, fun, beautiful opening day.
Whether you're visiting one bridge or trying to see as many as possible, slow down and enjoy the journey.
Because sometimes...
the road between the bridges is just as beautiful as the bridges themselves.
