🍂 FALL IS HERE — AND INDIANA IS SHOWING OFF
There is something special about October in Indiana.
The mornings are getting cooler, the leaves are beginning to change, and those beautiful fall colors are starting to appear along Indiana's back roads.
This is the time of year when a simple drive through the countryside can turn into an afternoon adventure.
And if you love Indiana history, photography, small towns, and covered bridges, this is definitely a month to get out and explore.
🌉 THE COVERED BRIDGE FESTIVAL IS ALMOST HERE!
The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival begins October 9 and runs through October 18.
Parke County is famous for its collection of historic covered bridges, but the festival is about much more than bridges.
Visitors can enjoy small-town shopping, food, crafts, antiques, fall scenery, and plenty of opportunities to explore the communities scattered throughout the county.
One town worth putting on your list is Rosedale.
🏘️ Rosedale — A Neat Little Indiana Town
Rosedale may be small, but that's part of its charm.
There's something enjoyable about wandering through a small Indiana town where you can slow down, look around, and appreciate the local businesses, older buildings, and friendly small-town atmosphere.
During festival season, towns like Rosedale become part of the adventure.
Sometimes the best memories aren't made at the biggest attraction. They're made when you turn down a road, discover a little town, stop for a bite to eat, and realize you've found somewhere you might have otherwise missed.
That's one of the things that makes traveling around Indiana so much fun.
🍁 TODAY'S INDIANA FALL THOUGHT
Don't be afraid to take the scenic route.
Indiana has plenty of beautiful destinations, but sometimes the most interesting discoveries happen between Point A and Point B.
Take the back road.
Visit the little town.
Stop for the photograph.
Talk to the locals.
You never know what you'll find.
🔎 A LITTLE BLOGBITZ CHALLENGE
If you could spend an entire fall Saturday exploring Indiana, what would you choose?
A. Covered bridges
B. Small towns
C. Antique shops and flea markets
D. Fall hiking and nature
E. Food, festivals, and local events
For us, we're having a hard time choosing just one!
📸 FALL PHOTO IDEA
Today's photo challenge:
Find a covered bridge, old barn, historic building, or small-town street and photograph it with the fall colors surrounding it.
Indiana doesn't need a Hollywood movie set.
Sometimes the scenery is already here.
